Blood in the Water

Only 27 years old and fresh out of veterinary school, Darby started out with her first home in Wallingford. With a little help from how-to books and several seminars at The Home Depot, she was off. Darby turned her "hobby" into Lippincott Construction and has since built more than 60 homes in Seattle, becoming one of the largest woman-owned construction firms in the state.

However, Darby met a man who needed a wife, and two kids who needed a mom. Her passions were now in a new direction.Darby decided to retire her building career, move south to Centralia, and become a new mom. It just so happened, the economy decided to move south as well. With just a handful of properties left to sell, the market turned ugly and has turned Darby into bait for greedy sharks looking for opportunity at her expense. This blog is our way of showing solidarity with Darby. A simple platform to turn pain into hope, and stress into random chances of joy and chaos. From neighboorhood block parties, hollywood-type reveals, viral videos, combined with several public assaults of redheads, we hope to humanize Darby to the sharks, remind the others of the person behind the home, as well as make clear - there is no better time to buy a home.

We thought it would be fun to start an online challenge to have folks don a red wig and become a Darby too. The idea is that we invite folks to take a quick picture of themselves in a red wig and email us proof of such photo, and change their profile picture on MySpace, Facebook, Twitter, and others with a link back to here. Depending on the creativity displayed, we would then reward such crazy behavior with free stuff.

Who better to start us off then the Realtor responsible for selling the last of her homes! Here is Troy Anderson and his entire family.
